①音楽に合わせて他者と同調させて泳ぐことにより、協調性とリズム感を養うとともに体力増強および柔軟性を高め、健やかな身体づくりに繋げる。
②アーティスティックスイミング（AS）のベーシックに挑戦することにより、水中での幅広い身体のコントロールの技術を身につける。
③学年や学部が違う者同士協力し合って、一つの演目を創り上げ、発表する。

初回授業は、授業内で健康診断（問診）を実施するため、水着等の実技時の準備物は不要。
【重要】
●水泳用健康診断を受診するため初回授業には必ず出席すること。
●水泳用健康診断の結果により，履修取消となる場合がある。
●当該年度の定期健康診断（授業内健康診断とは別）を必ず受診すること。
※初回授業にて定期健康診断の受診の有無の確認が行われる。
1．担当教員より特別の指示のない限り，更衣はポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター（池袋キャンパス）/ 新座体育館（新座キャンパス）の更衣室で行うこと。なお，第1回目の授業より実習が始まるので，運動ができる服装・靴を準備し，授業に出席すること。屋内施設で行う授業は専用シューズを用意すること。
2．天候等により通常の実施場所とは異なる場合があるため，屋内・屋外科目に関わらず，授業前にポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター入口（池袋キャンパス）/体育館入口（新座キャンパス）の掲示板で実施場所を確認すること。
3．当年度の4月に行われる定期健康診断を必ず受診しておくこと。
※健康診断を受診すると，保健室にて通学定期乗車券発行控に「済」印（健康診断が受診済みであることを証明する印）が押されるため，それを初回授業時に提示すること。
※定期健康診断を未受診の場合は，授業参加に支障をきたすため，早急に保健室の「追加の健康診断について」のページを確認して対応すること。
4. 実習中の怪我や事故には充分注意し、担当教員から指示がある場合は、それに従い行動すること。
本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
