【Course Objectives】

Learn about the characteristics of water and deepen your understanding of exercise in aquatic environments through swimming and underwater exercises. The objective of this course is for students to acquire communication skills and the ability to think about things from a broad perspective as well as promoting health, improving physical strength, and attending lectures to discover and practice new challenges with water.

【Course Contents】

In the lecture, the characteristics of water, safety management, the characteristics and effects of underwater exercise and points of the 4 modern swimming styles are explained. For practical skills, students practice underwater movements, underwater recreation and various types of swimming based on the 4 modern swimming styles, while touching on the physiological responses of being underwater and fluid dynamics. The practice contents are organized by swimming skills, and students’ individual learning and implementation is subject to evaluation. All the classes spend the first 1/3 on lectures and the remaining 2/3 on practice.
