Improve your understanding of how to move your body by experiencing and learning exercises using the basic positions and steps of classical ballet. Discover the fun of dance movements through dancing simple combinations along with the music. These two are the objectives of this course.
Classical ballet is known for its brilliant history of 400 years of performances, but it also has a history of perfecting a physical exercise that has been stripped of waste. In this class, students learn ballet by grasping the patterns of this exercise. On top of this, students learn basic practice as exercises based on each student’s body.

クラシック・バレエの基本のポジションとパ(ステップ)などのエクササイズを体験し習得することによって，自らの身体の動かし方を改めて知る。簡単なコンビネーションを楽曲にあわせて踊ることを通して，踊るという運動の面白さを発見する。以上の２点を目標とする。

クラシック・バレエは華やかな４００年の作品の歴史が知られるが，それは同時に無駄を削ぎ落とした一つの身体運動の完成の歴史でもある。本授業では，バレエを，その運動の構造を捉えて学ぶ。その上で受講者それぞれの身体に立脚した運動として，基本の実践習得を行う。
Classical ballet is known for its brilliant history of 400 years of performances, but it also has a history of perfecting a physical exercise that has been stripped of waste. 第一回から行うバレエのためのヨガ（ストレッチと体幹コンディショニング）を、自宅等で実習する。

◆バレエの経験は不問。バレエシューズ，バレエ用ウェアは特に必要なし。
◆実習はシューズは使用せず、裸足もしくは靴下で行う。
◆伸縮性があり、ある程度身体にフィットした、動きやすい運動着に更衣して参加すること。
◆水分補給のための水筒等を持参すること。
◆初回は、オリエンテーション後に実技実習を行う。
1．担当教員より特別の指示のない限り，更衣はポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター（池袋キャンパス）/ 新座体育館（新座キャンパス）の更衣室で行うこと。なお，第1回目の授業より実習が始まるので，運動ができる服装・靴を準備し，授業に出席すること。屋内施設で行う授業は専用シューズを用意すること。
2．天候等により通常の実施場所とは異なる場合があるため，屋内・屋外科目に関わらず，授業前にポール・ラッシュ・アスレチックセンター入口（池袋キャンパス）/体育館入口（新座キャンパス）の掲示板で実施場所を確認すること。
3．当年度の4月に行われる定期健康診断を必ず受診しておくこと。
※健康診断を受診すると，保健室にて通学定期乗車券発行控に「済」印（健康診断が受診済みであることを証明する印）が押されるため，それを初回授業時に提示すること。
※定期健康診断を未受診の場合は，授業参加に支障をきたすため，早急に保健室の「追加の健康診断について」のページを確認して対応すること。
4. 実習中の怪我や事故には充分注意し、担当教員から指示がある場合は、それに従い行動すること。
本科目は、担当教員の実務経験、または実務に従事するゲスト・スピーカーの招聘講義等を活かした授業である。
