The purpose of this class is to improve comprehensive abilities in Listening, Speaking, Reading, and Writing in Chinese, deepening the understanding of Chinese society and culture. The class will focus on balancing both Reading Comprehension (input) and Essay Writing/Presentation/Debate (output). Students will have many opportunities to put the knowledge into practice in addition to reading practice. The ultimate goal of this class is to improve the student’s abilities in Chinese expression. The content of this course is equivalent to HSK level 5.
Specific learning methods include 1. Selecting sentences of various topics matching the student’s major, interests, and actual Chinese level, 2. Essay writing for these topics, 3. Verbal presentation and debates during class, and 4. Supplementary information/explanation provided by the teacher. The learning curriculum will place more value on verbal expression training.

本课程的目标是提高中文的听、说、读、写的综合能力,并加深对中国社会与文化的理解。在课堂上重视“阅读理解”与“作文、发表、讨论”的平衡。不仅有阅读练习,而且为学生提供大量的语言实践机会。最终目标在于提高学生的中文表达能力。本课程所学习的内容相当于HSK5级。
