【Course Objectives】

Throughout this CLIL course, students will learn how to:
1) use note taking strategies to understand the main points of lectures and videos. (L)
2) discuss their ideas with classmates in response to lectures or class readings. (L)
3) write summaries and short responses to lectures, videos or class readings. (L)
4) understand the past, present and future directions of globalization and business. (C)
5) understand the implications of globalization for management practices (C )
6) collaborate with classmates to create research-based presentations on a relevant topic (C )

【Course Contents】

In this course, students will delve into the convergence of globalization and business, with a specific focus on honing critical thinking skills through the examination of case studies. The curriculum underscores the analysis of business case studies to elucidate both the advantages and disadvantages inherent in the interplay of globalization and business. An overview of various topics will be explored, including marketplace competition, cultural issues at the workplace, and social responsibilities. Students will actively participate in researching and scrutinizing their own specific areas of interest (e.g, international trade, accounting, management), engaging in critical reflection on relevant issues. Through fostering active involvement in class discussions, self-initiated research endeavors, and collaborative projects, the course aims to empower students to formulate opinions and effectively articulate their reasoning on multifaceted topics.
