【Course Objectives】

This course will provide students with the opportunity to study basic academic knowledge related to educational psychology, communications and linguistics in English. Students will work their way through the assigned content and tasks and then have the chance to reflect and apply their new knowledge to themselves.

【Course Contents】

Each week, students will learn a new academic concept through the assigned content. A mini lecture on each week’s topic will be given by the instructor, followed by students’ discussion to better understand the topic. The topics will include learning theories/motivation and self-regulation (educational psychology), communication basics and strategies (communications), and bilingualism (linguistics). Students will engage in three projects in which they will conduct research individually and collaboratively with classmates and present their findings to the class.
