You will come to understand the function and role of information in travel and tourism, as well as how travel information systems support modern travel and tourism, and you will be able to design information reception and transmission systems appropriate for travel and tourism.
First, I will explain the relationship of information and information systems to travel and tourism, based on the mechanisms and history of travel and tourism. Then I will explain how information related to travel and tourism has been sent and received. I will further explain the current situation and outlook for travel and tourism information systems. After that, we will discuss how information and information systems support modern travel and tourism. At that time, we will cover specific case studies. Classes will consist of lectures and group discussion among students. Note that reaction papers will be used for communication with students.

旅行、観光において情報がどのような機能・役割を担っているか、旅行情報システムが現代の旅行・観光をどのように支えているかを理解し、適切な旅行・観光をめぐる情報受発信のデザインができるようになる。
You will come to understand the function and role of information in travel and tourism, as well as how travel information systems support modern travel and tourism, and you will be able to design information reception and transmission systems appropriate for travel and tourism.
まず、旅行・観光と「情報」や「情報システム」の関係について、旅行・観光の仕組みと歴史を踏まえて説明する。次に、旅行・観光をめぐる情報がどのように送受信されてきたかについて説明する。さらに、旅行・観光の情報システムの現状と展望について説明する。その上で、「情報」や「情報システム」が現代の旅行・観光をどのように支えているのかを議論する。その際に、具体的な事例について取り上げる。授業は講義と履修者同士のディスカッションを通じて展開する。なお、担当教員と履修者、履修者同士のコミュニケーションにはリアクションペーパー等を用いる。

（1）自分と旅行ガイドブック、旅行番組との関係について振り返ってみる。必要に応じてそれらを旅行ガイドブック、旅行番組を見て現状を理解する。（2）インターネットを使って旅行・観光の任意の情報を収集してみる（SNSも含む）。（3）オンライン旅行予約サービスのサイトを訪問し、実際に任意のホテル、航空券などを検索してみる（実際に予約・購入する必要はない）。（4）旅行会社の店舗を訪問し店内の様子を観察する（営業の妨げにならないように配慮すること）。
