【Course Objectives】

Students must decide on a research theme they want to be clear about. For example, conduct a field survey and collect data on how climate change negatively impacts local specialty products. The economic value of the loss of local specialty products will be estimated using the data collected, and the results will be presented at a national conference.
If it is difficult, students will study economic analysis of the world's natural heritage in this class. As many regions make good use of area-specific resources such as tourism resources, it is important to understand the value of local development using economics. This class will focus on the world's natural heritage and learn how to estimate its value as a tourism resource. This viewpoint will enable students to analyze which region will be suitable for registering the world heritage in the future through an economic perspective.

【Course Contents】

It is significant for us to consider the impact of climate change on tourism because the aggravation of climate conditions results from inadequate human activities. In particular, the course will focus on estimating the impact on local specialties using economic models and the analysis of the decision-making process of producers, such as shifting crops. In addition, field surveys will be conducted in the target areas, and data will be analyzed.
