Highlighting 19th-century French literature, students will develop the ability to understand the correlation between linguistic art and plastic art forms through reading literary works on paintings and sculptures.
This lecture is in two parts. In the first half (sessions 2-6), we will examine “beauty” as a keyword to understand how paintings and sculptures are expressed in poetry. In the second half, (sessions 7-14) we will examine how paintings and sculptures appearing in novels work in the story, and in instances where artists appear, we will consider what kind of perspectives on art the characters have.

19世紀フランス文学を取り上げ、絵画や彫刻がテーマとされている作品を読解し、言語芸術と造形芸術の相関関係を読み解く力を養います。
Highlighting 19th-century French literature, students will develop the ability to understand the correlation between linguistic art and plastic art forms through reading literary works on paintings and sculptures.
本講義は2つのパートからなります。前半（第2回から第6回）では、詩において絵画や彫刻がどのように表現されているのかを「美」をキーワードに読み解いてゆきます。後半（第7回から第14回）では、小説において絵画や彫刻がストーリーのなかでどのように機能しているのか、また登場人物が芸術家の場合、いかなる芸術観を抱いているのかを考察します。
