The objective of the class is to acquire a basic knowledge of the relationship between art and tourism and, based on this, to be able to critically examine the various changes in the contemporary art world.
This class will take the opening of the Louvre in 1793 as its starting point, and will provide an overview of the relationship between art and tourism over the past 200 years. The details are given in the class plan below, but the major topics include:
1. History of the Museum
2. History of Public Art
3. Art as a Tourism Resource
4. Art Festivals and Tourism
5. Museum and Accessibility

この授業では、芸術と観光の関係についての基本的な知識を獲得し、それをもとに、現代の芸術をめぐるさまざまな変化について批判的に考察できるようになることを目標とする。

この授業では、1793年のルーヴル美術館開館を出発点として定め、それから現在までの200年余りのあいだに、芸術と観光がいかなる関係を結んできたのかを概説的に論じる。詳細は下記の授業計画に譲るが、大きく分けると、1）ミュージアムの歴史、2）パブリックアートの歴史、3）観光資源としての芸術、4）国内外の芸術祭、5）ミュージアムとアクセシビリティといった話題を扱う予定である。

①授業形態：この授業は講義形式で行なう。おもにスライドと配布資料を用いる予定だが、必要に応じて板書も併用する。
②課題へのフィードバック：授業中に実施する中間テスト・最終テストについては、授業時間内に総評を行なう。また、Canvas LMS等を通じて寄せられた質問・コメントについては、授業中に取りあげる可能性がある。
