The objective is to “know and understand others", and for this purpose to cultivate empathy in accordance with cultural anthropology and folkloristic methods.
In this course, students will learn the basic forms of academic thinking: reading, summarizing, commenting, and discussing through introductory papers on the anthropology of religion. We will also conduct off-campus field trips.

文化人類学・民俗学の手法に則って「他者を知り理解する」、そのための想像力を養うことを目的とします。
The objective is to “know and understand others", and for this purpose to cultivate empathy in accordance with cultural anthropology and folkloristic methods.
演習2年では宗教人類学に関わる平易な論文を用いることで、読解する・要約する・コメントする・議論するというアカデミックな思考の基本形式を身につけます。また適宜校外で巡検（短期調査）を行います。

春学期開講「観光人類学（宗教）」、「フィールドワーク論」の受講を強く推奨します。その他、人類学関係の科目はできるだけ多く履修しておくと、演習での理解が深まるだけでなく、自分自身の専門性が身につくでしょう。
また希望があれば、教員が実施するフィールドワーク（授業の一環ではない調査研究）に同行する機会があります。

| 文化人類学や民俗学の概論的な書籍を事前に読んでおくことをおすすめします。『人類学のコモンセンス』（浜本満他編）、『文化人類学の思考法』（松村圭一郎他編）、『民俗学入門』（菊地暁）、『民俗学の思考法』（岩本通弥他編）あたりが良いと思います。 |
演習は講義と違って受動的な聴講ではなく、受講生の能動的な参加によって成り立ちます。指導にも関わらず参加態度が改善されない場合、受講の継続可否の判断を行います。
