The objective of this course is to learn the basics of statistical analysis methods used in psychological research, as well as the basics of statistical modeling and multivariate data analysis, and to acquire techniques for analyzing data on one’s own.
This course covers the basic statistical modeling and analysis methods used in psychological research by reviewing relevant procedures and examples from existing research; we will mainly focus on major multivariate models and analytical methods. Students will learn to analyze data independently by gaining sufficient knowledge and skills necessary to find adequate analytical methods according to the purpose of their research and nature of their data.

心理学領域の研究において用いられている統計解析手法、さらに統計モデリングや多変量データ解析の基礎を学び、自らデータを分析するための技術の習得を目標とする。
The objective of this course is to learn the basics of statistical analysis methods used in psychological research, as well as the basics of statistical modeling and multivariate data analysis, and to acquire techniques for analyzing data on one’s own.
統計解析手法の基礎知識と、多変量データ解析法についての基本的な考え方や主要なモデルについて説明する。また、具体的な研究例を参照しながら解析のための手続きや解析結果の読み取り方についても解説する。研究の目的やデータの性質に応じて、適切な分析手法を選択する上で必要となる知識や技術の習得を目指す。なお、研究における倫理についても扱う。
