Understanding fundamental matters such as definition and structure of family from the point of view of modern psychology. With this, learning about the diversity of modern and future concept of "family" without being hold back by traditional sense of value. Also, having interest and being willing to learn proactively the skill of holding discussions about various topics and problems related to recent households.
Students learn about the following: 1) processes in mind involved into personal relationships as well as intention and behavior in groups, 2) people's attitude and behavior, 3) effect of family, groups and culture on an individual, all from the point of view of family psychology. This class handles, based on the texts and reference literature on family psychology, matters like family development, problems that families may encounter, risks of the modern Japanese families. Furthermore, at each lesson students enhance their studies by individual work.

現代の心理学の観点から家族の定義や成り立ちなどの基本的事項を理解する。それを受け、従来の価値観にとらわれずに、現代および今後の「家族」の多様性について学習する。また、昨今の家族をめぐる様々なテーマや諸問題に関心を持ち、自ら学び、議論する力を養うことを目標とする。

家族心理学の観点から、①対人関係並びに集団における人の意識および行動についての心の過程、②人の態度および行動、③家族、集団および文化が個人に及ぼす影響について学ぶ。各回では家族心理学に関するテキストや参考文献をもとに、家族の発達や家族が遭遇しやすい問題、現代の日本の家族に生じている危機などについて扱う。尚、毎回の授業では個人ワークの提出によって、学びを深める。
