Students will learn various research methods in psychology, with a focus on experimental methods. The goal is to acquire empirical thinking methods using data and practical knowledge for conducting experiments in preparation for graduation thesis research.
This course focuses on experimental methods, which are the basis of empirical research methods in psychology. Although there are a wide range of research areas in experimental psychology, this course will provide students with a basic understanding of the methods commonly used in each area and a basis for considering how to examine their own interests. We will touch on qualitative research, which is in contrast to experimental psychology, and deepen our understanding by confirming specific data and results. Students will learn how to conduct research and how to take a stance on it, touching on issues such as replicability and ethical issues, which have become problems in recent years.

心理学における研究法について、実験的手法を中心に様々な研究法に触れる。卒業論文研究を見据え、データを用いた実証的な思考方法と実験実施に際しての実践的な知識を身につけることを目指す。

心理学における実証的研究法の基本である実験的手法を中心に学ぶ。実験心理の研究領域は多岐にわたるが、それぞれの領域においてよく利用される方法を理解し、自らの興味をどのように検討するべきか考えるための基礎知識とする。実験心理学とは対照的な質的研究について触れたり、具体的なデータや結果を確認することで理解を深める。近年問題となっている再現性の問題や研究倫理などにも触れながら、研究の仕方や姿勢を習得する。
