【Course Objectives】

The aim of this course is to help students acquire the necessary skills and knowledge needed to read English-language literature. It also enhances the development of students’ skills in summarizing the contents of the research paper and making oral presentations. The goals of this course are to
(1) Obtain basic knowledge about technical terms of psychology, study design, and analysis.
(2) Understand and evaluate English research papers in terms of their methods, results, conclusions, and implications.

【Course Contents】

Students will choose the literature on the topic close to their interests and concerns from the list of English-language literature selected by their teaching staff and then read it and summarize its contents. Presentations will be made in Japanese. Also, it is expected that they give constructive opinions and ask questions to other presenters, and the presenters, in turn, would properly answer those. This course will be taught in Japanese. But all of the course materials are in English.
