The main focus is on developing sensitivity to and knowledge of sound, and developing sensitivity to sound/literacy, and creating works of art using all kinds of sound as material.
The term 'sound art' refers to 'aural art'. It includes not only music, but also soundscapes as soundscapes of the environment, dance/performance as music of the body, sound poetry through words and vocalisations, sound sculptures as sounding objects, sound installations that focus on the presence and experience of sound, video and graphic works that question the relationship between sight and hearing The visual art of musical notation is also included. The first half of the class will consist of case studies of sound artists/works, while the second half will consist of recording and editing to create a work of art.

音に対する感性や知識を深め、音への感性開発/リテラシー向上に主眼をおいた、あらゆる音を素材とした作品を作り上げます。

「サウンドアート」とは「聴覚芸術」のことです。音楽のみならず、環境の音風景としてのサウンドスケープ、身体の音楽としてのダンス/パフォーマンス、言葉や発声によるサウンド・ポエトリー、音を鳴らすオブジェとしての音響彫刻、音の存在と体験を重視するサウンド・インスタレーション、視覚と聴覚の関係性を問う映像や図形楽譜という視覚芸術なども含まれています。前半はサウンドアーティスト/作品の事例紹介、後半はレコーディング＆編集によって作品を作り上げるという構成の授業になります。
