【Course Objectives】

Thinking images from the point of view of cultural anthropology, students learn about the diversity of cultures, understand the role of images in comprehending different cultures, and aim to apply it to their own interests.

【Course Contents】

Both film and cultural anthropology began to be systematized in the second half of the 19th century, and ever since then they have had a lot of common research projects. Their common point is visual anthropology. This class brings up images created in various times, countries, views, and lectures on representative topics on visual anthropology. At present, as we understand cultures in the world through images, the perspective of visual anthropology is becoming increasingly important.
