Students will acquire the following:
1. An understanding of the basic concepts and major issues in aesthetics.
2. A basic knowledge of the history of contemporary art.
3. A basic understanding of issues related to contemporary art today.
4. A foundation for their own thinking about contemporary art.
The course will be conducted in lecture format.
The first few sessions will provide an introduction to aesthetics. We will then survey the development of contemporary art from the early 20th century to the present in roughly chronological order, discussing current issues in contemporary art as needed.

（１）美学の基礎的な概念や、主要な問題についての初歩的な知識を身につける。
（２）現代芸術の基本的な流れについて、初歩的な知識を身につける。
（３）現代芸術に関わる、特に今日的な諸問題について概観する。
（４）以上を通して、現代芸術について自分なりに思考していくための基礎を身につける。

授業は講義形式で行います。
最初の数回では、芸術や美的なものについて考えるための学問である、美学の考え方について、導入的な講義を行います。それ以降は、20世紀初頭頃から今日にいたる現代芸術の流れを概ね時系列順に概観していきます。それとともに、現代芸術に関わる、特に今日的な諸問題を随時取り上げて検討します。
The course will be conducted in lecture format.
