【Course Objectives】

The goal of this course is to understand the relationship between the natural environment of the Japanese Islands, including topography, hydrology, and climate, and the people who live there.

【Course Contents】

The lecture will focus on the interaction between humans and the natural environment surrounding the Japanese archipelago, using spatial scales from the global to the regional level. Visual lectures will be given using PowerPoint and Google Earth. Some work will be done using maps to deepen understanding. Discussions with participants on geographic events that can be read from the materials will be included.
