【Course Objectives】

This subject is one of a group of subjects for deepening the understanding of theory, system, and services required for social workers specializing in interpersonal support. How do we recognize children as rights-bearers and support their growth and development in society? Learn about the historic development of child welfare and acquire the knowledge required to understand children’s problems and family issues in modern society. In addition, the course aims to foster students’ basic ability to carry out social work through learning about laws and institutional systems and the practicalities of support services.

【Course Contents】

Study the living conditions of children and families raising children in modern society and the social conditions surrounding them, based on demand for welfare (including single-parent families, child abuse and domestic violence, regional support for child care and youth development), and learn about the significance and practice of child welfare from the perspective of securing children's rights. Consider in-depth the law and institutional systems, implementation structures, leaders of services and their specialties from a variety of perspectives.
