【Course Objectives】

The goal of this course is to provide students with an understanding of social work theories, methods, and techniques related to people with mental health challenges, mental illness, mental disabilities, and their families, especially to be able to describe the content, values, recovery-oriented interventions, and approaches of the recovery concept in the mental health welfare field in concrete terms. The student should be able to explain the content, values, recovery-oriented interventions and approaches in the field of mental health.

【Course Contents】

(1) Explain the perspectives, values, and principles on which social workers are based, as they relate to recovery-oriented practice.
(2) Introduce theories, recovery-oriented techniques, and core concepts related to social work necessary to support people with mental disabilities and mental health issues.
(3) Role-plays of specific situations will be conducted so that students can learn how to understand people and society based on the concept of recovery in social work.
The class will incorporate discussions and role-plays among students as needed regarding the above, so students are encouraged to participate proactively. Although this class is designed to prepare students for the National Examination for Mental Health Workers, we welcome those who wish to learn theories and skills related to social work, including those who aim to become social workers, and those who are interested in supporting people with mental disabilities and mental health issues and their families.
