【Course Objectives】

Acquire the basic knowledge related to the meaning, background, and methods of social research.
Acquire the prerequisite knowledge for carrying out research in seminars and graduate research projects.

【Course Contents】

In this class, we explain the basic knowledge related to the meaning, background, and methods of social research to students who are looking to study social research in earnest in the future. We explain various social research methods, data collection and analysis processes, the history of social researches, and research ethics, taking actual examples of researches into account. At the same time, the objective of the course is for students to acquire the ability to interpret data from existing qualitative and quantitative surveys.

[Japanese Certification Board for Social Researcher]
This subject is equivalent to Social Researcher Certification Course A , and is an introductory part of the related subject. Taking this course with Research Methods 1, Course B will enable students to master the basics of social research.
