The goal of this class is to acquire a multifaceted perspective in order to understand the mechanisms of poverty countermeasures such as public assistance, their problems, and how they should be, after understanding the theory and reality of contemporary poverty and the wealth gap.
We will review various theories regarding poverty, such as relative deprivation, and the actual situation of poverty in Japan and other countries. And, we will present the mechanisms and issues of public assistance and self-reliance support systems for people in poverty, which are anti-poverty measures. Finally, we will provide a comprehensive review of poverty and poverty countermeasures in Japan.

現代の貧困と格差に関する理論や実態を理解したうえで、生活保護等の貧困対策の仕組みとその問題点、あり方について理解するための多角的な視点を身につけることを目標とする。
The goal of this class is to acquire a multifaceted perspective in order to understand the mechanisms of poverty countermeasures such as public assistance, their problems, and how they should be, after understanding the theory and reality of contemporary poverty and the wealth gap.
相対的剥奪など貧困に関する諸理論、日本や諸外国の貧困の実態を確認する。次いで、貧困対策である生活保護、生活困窮者自立支援制度の仕組みや課題を提示する。最後に、日本の貧困と貧困対策のあり方について総論的に検討する。
We will review various theories regarding poverty, such as relative deprivation, and the actual situation of poverty in Japan and other countries. And, we will present the mechanisms and issues of public assistance and self-reliance support systems for people in poverty, which are anti-poverty measures. Finally, we will provide a comprehensive review of poverty and poverty countermeasures in Japan.

| 個人発表ではありませんが、授業中、学生に個別に質問することはあると思います。 |
予習として、参考文献や貧困に関連するその他の文献や関連する新聞記事等を読んでおくこと。
復習として、授業で話をした内容と関連する新聞記事や判決文等を読んで、講義で紹介した理論やアプローチを踏まえて考察すること。その他、必要に応じて講義中およびCANVAS LMSにて別途指示をする。

講義は、必要に応じて板書も行うが、パワーポイントや配布資料、映像資料を中心に進める。
講義の終わりにはリアクションペーパーを記入してもらう。
フィードバックについては、必要に応じて、次回授業開始時やCANVAS LMSを利用して行う。
講義以外でも連絡をすることがあるので、大学メールやCANVAS LMSは週に２〜３度は見るようにすること。
