You will be able to analyze the effectiveness of current international aid and cooperation and discuss the solutions to achieve an inclusive society based on the concept of social development.
While economic development causes global issues such as social gaps, conflicts over resources, and environmental destruction, the United Nations and NGOs emphasize social development to achieve the well-being of the people. This lecture will discuss NGOs' roles and practical approaches in social development to mitigate the negative impacts of global issues.

社会開発の視点から援助や国際協力の在り方を再評価し、社会を構成する一員として共生社会実現のためにできることを提示すること。
You will be able to analyze the effectiveness of current international aid and cooperation and discuss the solutions to achieve an inclusive society based on the concept of social development.
経済成長を重視した開発は、貧富格差の拡大、資源をめぐる紛争、生態系の破壊といった国境を越えた問題を引き起こしています。そこで、国際機関やNGO等により、人びとのwell-beingに着目した社会開発の重要性が指摘されています。本講義では、貧困、紛争、環境問題等の国境を越えたグローバルな課題に対する社会開発のアプローチについて具体的な事例を通して学び、その有効性を検討します。また、社会開発を推進する主体としてのNGOの役割について考えます。
While economic development causes global issues such as social gaps, conflicts over resources, and environmental destruction, the United Nations and NGOs emphasize social development to achieve the well-being of the people.
