【Course Objectives】

The goals of this course are to
(1) Understand basic concepts in welfare sociology.
(2) Raise own awareness of the current and future status of welfare society, applying examples of various welfare issues.

【Course Contents】

In modern society, where globalization, neoliberalism, declining birthrates, an aging population, and individualization are progressing, various welfare issues have emerged, and the importance of understanding the relationship between welfare and society is increasing.
In this class, in lessons 1 to 5, we will learn about the concepts necessary to understand the welfare society through sociological theory. In the 6th to 9th sessions, we will take up important welfare issues surrounding modern society and understand the significance and issues of welfare in these issues. Furthermore, in the 10th to 13th sessions, the theme will be disasters that call into question the nature of a welfare society, and through the guest lecture, we will think about the creativity that resides in welfare.
Through these activities, we aim to develop the skills necessary to envision the welfare society of the future.
