【Course Objectives】

Obtaining the basic concepts and knowledge about "organizations", which are one of the basic components of a modern society. Furthermore, the acquired concepts and knowledge can be applied to consideration of various behaviors of specific actual organizations.

【Course Contents】

The class begins with a basic understanding of "organization", and identifies its actions, structures, and development mechanisms. The class covers a wide range of organizations, such as government and local governments and non-profit organizations (NPOs) in addition to companies that are for-profit organizations, and their characteristics are explained through the comparison of different organizations, such as for-profit and not-for-profits - promoting an understanding of the organization. Classes will take the form of lectures on the basic concepts and knowledge, as well as discussions between instructors and students, or in groups.
