【Course Objectives】

The objectives of this course are:
(i) to acquire the general and practical English language skills required for study abroad and internships.
(ii) to acquire sports-specific English language skills.
(iii) to acquire knowledge regarding diversity and the future of sport.
(iv) to develop leadership skills for the realisation of an inclusive society.
(v) to cultivate problem-solving skills while building teamwork.

【Course Contents】

This class is designed for students who are considering studying or taking an internship abroad, under the theme of 'Diversity and the Future of Sport'. However, students who are not currently interested in studying or doing an internship abroad but are interested in the course content are also welcome, as well as students who are not confident in their English language skills.
Of the four English skills (Reading, Listening, Writing and Speaking), greater emphasis will be placed on the output skills (Writing and Speaking), which are often neglected in compulsory education, with the aim of acquiring practical English language skills.
The specific content of the classes includes basic knowledge and basic practices related to sports in general, and various issues related to diversity in sports, which are considered through lectures and discussions, as well as deepening understanding through practical activities. The class will end with a final group presentation of a new sport that each team has created, and which everyone will be able to try out.
