In Latin America and Caribbean region grassroots movement by indigenous people and the afro-caribbean to claim for human rights called for decolonization of knowledge. Some of the geographical thoughts developed and contributed to such practices. Drawing from such thoughts in political ecology and critical development theories we will discuss possible framework for geographical research.
The participants are required to read and summarise the literature. Based on the summaries, we will discuss academic and geographical context, research framework, outcome and its implications.

先住民やアフロカリビアンの人権のための草の根運動が広がるラテンアメリカ・カリブ海地域では，知識の脱植民地化を先導する様々な思想が生まれてきた。この授業ではとくに，ニカラグアとコロンビアを舞台として記述された政治生態学・開発地理学の思想を批判的に読みながら，これらの思想について理解を深め，地誌の研究方法について議論する。

批判的開発地理学の基礎文献を輪読しながら，問題設定や研究方法，研究成果の意義と課題について報告と議論をおこなう。
