In this class, we will study the history and theories of anthropology. Students will learn how to relate their concern or research topic to anthropological theories.
Anthropological work is to elucidate universal principles common to human beings from the local facts observed by fieldwork. For this purpose, anthropologists immerse themselves in the local societies, disassembling their own thinking frameworks, and constructing a new way of reality based on ethnographic descriptions. In this class, we will learn the viewpoint of deconstructing our analytical frameworks.

本講義の目標は、文化人類学の理論書または民族誌の精読を通じて、人類学の学説史と理論を学び、自身の研究と関連付けて問いを深化させることである。初回は対面実施とし、以後は履修者との相談により決定する。
In this class, we will study the history and theories of anthropology. Students will learn how to relate their concern or research topic to anthropological theories.
人類学者の職人仕事は、フィールドワークによって観察された局地的な事実の中に、人類に共通する広く普遍的な原理を見つけ出すことである。そのために、調査対象となる社会に没入し、自身の思考枠組みを解体しながら、新たな現実のありかたを民族誌の記述によって構築する。本講義では、既存の思考枠組みを批判的に検討するための視点と、文脈や地域を越えて人類の普遍性を検討する技法を、民族誌または理論書の精読を通じて学ぶ。ただし、輪読文献や講義内容は、受講生の興味関心に応じて、授業内で相談しながら決定する。
