【Course Objectives】

By studying the latest research on the concept of dignity and examining its conceptual significance from multiple perspectives, the program will confirm the importance of dignity in the context of education and welfare, while enhancing insight into the new challenges facing human dignity.

【Course Contents】

The goal of this course is to provide students with a multifaceted understanding of the latest research trends surrounding the concept of dignity. The concept of dignity occupies a central position in a variety of fields that deal with humans, such as education, welfare, medicine, and technological innovation. In addition, research has emerged to apply the concept to non-human entities such as animals and robots. In this class, we will examine the philosophical basis of dignity, the evolution of its definition, and its significance and challenges in contemporary society through a close reading of literature reflecting the expansion of this concept of dignity.
