To acquire the ability to think about special needs education based on an understanding of the challenges faced by people with developmental disabilities.
Supports based on an understanding of students with developmental disabilities is required in education. In recent years, attention has focused on the possibility that sensory characteristics such as sensory hyper/hyperresponsivity, in which many people with developmental disabilities have, may underlie their maladaptation. We will be given the opportunity to understand the scientific evidence on these sensory issues, as well as the other social and motor characteristics of people with developmental disabilities, and to consider the related problems and their solutions from an educational perspective.

発達障害の当事者が抱える問題を理解し、特別支援教育のあり方について考えられる。
To acquire the ability to think about special needs education based on an understanding of the challenges faced by people with developmental disabilities.
特別支援教育において発達障害をもつ児童生徒の理解に基づく支援が求められている。特に近年では、発達障害者の多くが抱える感覚過敏や感覚鈍麻といった感覚の特性が、適応困難の背景にある可能性が注目されている。本講義は、こうした感覚の問題を始め発達障害当事者の社会性、運動などの特性に関する科学的知見を理解し、教育の視点に引きつけた問題提起やその解決について考える機会を提供する。
Supports based on an understanding of students with developmental disabilities is required in education.
