【Course Objectives】

This class mainly deals with postwar poetry. In doing so, we will consider the relationship between poetry, time, and culture after the Great Kanto Earthquake to the Sino-Japanese War, the Asia-Pacific War, the GHQ occupation period, and the Cold War period.

The class will cover poems by Kenji Miyazawa, Nobuo Ayukawa, Shuntaro Tanikawa, Hiroshi Kawasaki, and Taijiro Amasawa.

【Course Contents】

This class will be held in a seminar format.

After theoretical research and mock classes, each student will present a research report on their thesis topic.

In theoretical research, we will focus on poetics, adaptation, and parody.
