【Course Objectives】

Students will study universal and specialized subjects found in curriculum of Graduate School of Economics, “researching and understanding in depth general and specialized studies as well as economics, accountancy, and train one's personality based on the Christian teaching and to contribute to cultural development”. Students will aim to achieve the following three points.
1. Students will understand basic literatures on Japan economic and management history.
2. Students will acquire research methods on Japan economic and management history.
3. Students will acquire ability to make presentations based on Japanese economic and management history.

【Course Contents】

In this class, we will read academic papers on modern Japanese economic history, especially on "industrial history. No specialized knowledge or study of Japanese economic history since the Meiji period is required for this course. However, students are expected to read the papers carefully in advance, and to confirm proper nouns and the historical background of the papers. In class, we will read the papers by turns, and at the same time, the instructor and students will discuss and deepen their understanding of the papers. After the reading, students will be required to write a report and feedback will be given in class.
