[Knowledge] Students will acquire knowledge of major economic events in Japanese history, including its distinctive characteristics and features shared with other economies and their influence on contemporary Japan.
[Critical thinking skills] Students will develop critical thinking skills through historical cases.
[Presentation and discussion skills] Students will enhance their presentation skills and the ability to engage in constructive debates.
The course examines Japanese economic history from the modern era to the 21st century. The course is designed to develop research, critical analysis, presentation, and discussion skills. Modern Economic History 1 examines the period from the Meiji era to 1945, and Modern Economic History 2 discusses the period from 1945 to the 21st century. The course content includes lectures, readings, projects, and short assignments.

近代から21世紀までの日本経済の歴史をたどり、知識習得、研究手法と批判的分析力の獲得、プレゼンテーションと討論関連のスキルの習得を目標とします。「現代経済史特論１」は、明治期から1945年までを、「現代経済史特論２」は、1945年から21世紀までを扱います。授業内容は輪読、プロジェクト、小課題提出が中心です。プロジェクトは、歴史的なテーマをケースとして、批判的分析力を養うことを目的とし、エッセーまたはプレゼンテーションを提出します。
The course examines Japanese economic history from the modern era to the 21st century. The course is designed to develop research, critical analysis, presentation, and discussion skills.
