【Course Objectives】

Students will learn the ideas and theories of environmental economics. Through this learning, they will develop their ability to logically analyze environmental issues, and cultivate their theoretical thinking skills.

【Course Contents】

Many environmental issues are caused by human economic activities. To solve these issues, it is essential to analyze them from economic perspective. In this class, students will read English textbooks on environmental economic theories. This class will be in seminar format and focus on reading. Through these, students will learn environmental economic analysis method. Among many environmental economic theories, students will focus and delve into analysis method using mathematical framework and microeconomics foundation. Instead of studying individual environmental issues such as global warming and waste, students will learn universal theories that can apply to the analysis of these issues. The lesson plan is tentative and subject to change depending on the situation.
