【Course Objectives】

This seminar is a support course for MIB IDD students from University of Tübingen and outbound MIB IDD students.

For U. of Tübingen students, this seminar is designed to help students better pace and manage their research towards the MA thesis. Note, consultation on the content of the thesis is primarily conducted with the supervisor at Tuebingen.

For MIB outbound students, this seminar introduces students to research methodology and writing academic papers so that they are better prepared to undertake research at partner institutions.

【Course Contents】

Students are asked to meet with the seminar instructor(s) and/or an assigned MIB faculty on a regular basis to report on the progress of their masters thesis or research project. Seminar faculty provide general feedback on the progress reports. The final written report usually includes a well documented literature review and possibly preliminary findings (qualitative and/or quantitative) for the thesis (research project). We recommend MIB outbound students focus on writing a literature review.

Details regarding scheduling, assignment deadlines, and other practicalities will be covered in the first class and posted on Canvas.

Special online zoom sessions will be announced at least one week in advance.
