【Course Objectives】

Acquire the fundamental principles of Inorganic Chemistry. Systematically review the foundational concepts and laws that are pivotal for comprehending the physical properties and reactivities of inorganic compounds and transition-metal complexes.

【Course Contents】

Initially, we review the principles of atomic orbitals and bonding theories, including valence bond theory and the molecular orbital method, essential for the comprehension of inorganic compound properties. Delve into the periodicity of atoms and their distinctive characteristics. Furthermore, encompassing acid-base reactions, redox processes, and crystal structures. In the latter segment, subsequent to a comprehensive examination of crystal field theory and ligand field theory crucial for discerning transition metal complexes, we shall explore the optical characteristics and reactions inherent in metal complexes.
