【Course Objectives】

The purposes of this course are to understand the characteristics of organic photochemistry and to review related scientific fields.

【Course Contents】

This course is designed to lecture on organic photochemistry's basics and its adcenaced research topics. The course explains the basics of organic photochemistry, such as generation and properties of electronically excited states, photophysical processes (e.g., fluorescence, phosphorescence), photochemical reactions, excimers/exciplexes, excitation energy transfer, and photochemical experimental methods. Next, the course introduces several research topics on supramolecular photochemistry, solid-state photochemistry, photochromism, and photofunctional molecular devices. Finally, the course holds a presentation session on the literature related to organic photochemistry.
