The research methods include questionnaires, fieldwork, interviews, and other research skills to carry out the research project.

【Course Contents】

This course will compare media, journalism, and popular culture in East Asia from the perspectives of media and journalism studies. Considering the students' research interests, the target regions for comparison will be Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Hong Kong, and Singapore.
Research methods include media system analysis, qualitative media analysis, questionnaire surveys, fieldwork, and interviews. Students will learn theoretical analysis perspectives through reading literature and reviewing previous research, while each will design their research plan and collect data. We will focus on media system analysis, qualitative media analysis, and questionnaire surveys in the spring semester and conduct field surveys in the target areas in the fall semester.
