Much of journalism, such as ideas, grammar and style, has been created in the United States and the United Kingdom. This course deepens the understanding of journalism through the historical development of journalism in the United States.
This course performs careful reading in turns of the comprehensive history of American journalism by Emery et al.

諸理念、文法、記事のスタイル（文体）など、近現代ジャーナリズムはその多くをイギリス、アメリカがつくり上げてきた。本授業はとりわけ、アメリカにおけるジャーナリズムの発展史を通じて、ジャーナリズムについて理解を深める。
Much of journalism, such as ideas, grammar and style, has been created in the United States and the United Kingdom. This course deepens the understanding of journalism through the historical development of journalism in the United States.
マイケル・エメリーらによる包括的なアメリカジャーナリズムの通史のテキストの輪読を行う。本テキストはジャーナリズムの変化、発展をアメリカ社会の変化、発展との関係から理解しようとしたもので、それ以前のアメリカジャーナリズム史とは一線を画すものである。
