【授業の目標 / Course Objectives】

この授業の目的は、政治思想史学の方法論について、これまでの業績を確認し、特に東アジアの思想史について、どのようなアプローチが有効かを検討することである。

This course aims to examine the achievements to date in the methodology of the history of political thought and to consider what approaches can be effective, particularly with regard to the intellectual history of East Asian thought.

【授業の内容 / Course Contents】

政治思想史の方法については、多くの研究蓄積がある。しかし、非ヨーロッパ言語の思想を対象にする場合、どのようなアプローチが有効か、西洋思想の場合とどのような違いがあるのか、安易な文化比較やステレオタイプな枠組みをどのように回避したら良いのかについて、検討の余地は多い。様々な方法論的著作を検討しながら、参加者と共にこれらの問題を考察する。

There is a great deal of previous research on the methods of the history of political thought. However, there is much room for consideration as to what approaches are effective when targeting non-European language ideas, how they differ from those of Western thought, and how to avoid easy cultural comparisons and stereotypical frameworks. We will consider these issues by examining different methodologies.
