【Course Objectives】

We will understand the connection between human life and music, and reposition human existence through music. Using clues from music, we can think about how to live and encounter the conclusion of life as well as design the end of our own lives.

【Course Contents】

The last stage of life that everyone encounters at some time. Where and with whom would you want to be during that time? What kind of music would you want to listen to?
In this course we will introduce the music that patients in the hospice care ward wanted to listen to during clinical music therapy and the stories around the music. Musical preference is strongly tied to people’s identities, and patients request songs from their cherished memories, mottos, faith, and view of life and death. We will learn the memories that patients gave to music, confront the question of what music is to humans, and deepen our examination.
