Intended for those individuals who have no prior learning experience or are at a similar level. The goal of J1 course is to acquire basic abilities including Japanese notation and pronunciation so as to be able to communicate in Japanese in basic everyday activities such as shopping, asking for directions, etc., to learn hiragana and katakana, the conjugations of basic verbs and adjectives and develop a vocabulary of about 500 words. And the goal of Total Skills class is to correctly use sentence forms and vocabulary learned in Grammar 2, to acquire additional skills for handling unknown vocabulary or sentence forms.
Students are assumed to have properly reviewed the sentence forms and vocabulary learned in Grammar 2.

日本語(にほんご)を学習(がくしゅう)した経験(けいけん)のない者(もの),およびそれに準(じゅん)ずる者(もの)を対象(たいしょう)とする。Ｊ１コース全体(ぜんたい)の目標(もくひょう)は,日本語(にほんご)の表記(ひょうき)や発音(はつおん)などを含(ふく)む,基礎的(きそてき)な能力(のうりょく)を身(み)につけ,買(か)い物(もの)や道(みち)の聞(き)き方(かた)など,日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)の基本的(きほんてき)な活動(かつどう)で日本語(にほんご)が使(つか)えるようにすること,ひらがな,カタカナ表記(ひょうき),基本的(きほんてき)な動詞(どうし)や形容詞(けいようし)の活用(かつよう),約(やく)５００語(ご)の単語(たんご)を学習(がくしゅう)することである。その中(なか)で,総合(そうごう)スキルの目標(もくひょう)は,文法(ぶんほう)２で習(なら)った文型(ぶんけい)や語彙(ごい)を正確(せいかく)に運用(うんよう)できるようになること,未習(みしゅう)の語彙(ごい)や文型(ぶんけい)があっても,対応(たいおう)できるスキルを身(み)につけることである。

学生(がくせい)が文法(ぶんほう)２で習(なら)った文型(ぶんけい)や語彙(ごい)をきちんと復習(ふくしゅう)していることを前提(ぜんてい)として授業(じゅぎょう)を進(すす)める。
