This course is designed for students who have completed the beginner- and intermediate-level study. Students will be introduced to and practice the intermediate sentence patterns that are frequently used in essays, conversation, and the like, while reviewing the grammatical structures and sentence patterns that they have learned at the beginner and intermediate levels. The purpose of this course is not only to build upon students’ existing knowledge of sentence patterns and vocabulary, but also to bring them to a level where they are able to utilize these constructions in a variety of everyday situations.
Students will learn sentence patterns and vocabulary used in daily conversation and written materials. Rather than simply introducing the new material, the focus will be on getting students to correctly use the new sentence patterns in actual conversation and in writing, understanding how they are different from structures they already know.
The course consists of two parts.
Part 1: Introduction and practice of particle equivalents
Part 2: Introduction, practice, and development of key structures
In Part 1, 2-4 particle equivalents will be covered in each class. In Part 2, students will review beginner material as well as learning more developed sentence patterns and expressions.

初中級(しょちゅうきゅう)修了(しゅうりょう)レベルの学習者(がくしゅうしゃ)を対象(たいしょう)とする。初中級(しょちゅうきゅう)で学習(がくしゅう)した文法(ぶんぽう)事項(じこう),文型(ぶんけい)を復習(ふくしゅう)しながら,エッセイや会話(かいわ)などで頻繁(ひんぱん)に用(もち)いられる中級(ちゅうきゅう)文型(ぶんけい)を紹介(しょうかい)し,練習(れんしゅう)する。学生(がくせい)が知識(ちしき)として持(も)っている文型(ぶんけい)や語彙(ごい)を増(ふ)やすだけでなく,それらを日常(にちじょう)生活(せいかつ)の様々(さまざま)な場面(ばめん)で活用(かつよう)できるレベルに高(たか)めることを目(め)指(ざ)す。

日常(にちじょう)会話(かいわ)や書(か)き言葉(ことば)の中(なか)で使(つか)われる文型(ぶんけい)や語彙(ごい)の学習(がくしゅう)を行(おこな)う。単(たん)に導入(どうにゅう)するのではなく,既習(きしゅう)項目(こうもく)との違(ちが)いを整理(せいり)しながら新(あたら)しい文(ぶん)型(けい)を実際(じっさい)の会話(かいわ)や書(か)き言葉(ことば)の中(なか)で正(ただ)しく使(つか)う練習(れんしゅう)を重視(じゅうし)する。
授業(じゅぎょう)の内容(ないよう)は２部(ぶ)構成(こうせい)になっている。
Part１：助詞(じょし)相当語(そうとうご)の導入(どうにゅう)・練習(れんしゅう)
Part２：主要(しゅよう)項目(こうもく)の導入(どうにゅう)・練習(れんしゅう)・発展(はってん)
Parｔ１では,毎回(まいかい)2～4個(こ)の助詞(じょし)相当語(そうとうご)を扱(あつか)う。Part2では,初級(しょきゅう)の復習(ふくしゅう)に加(くわ)えて,それを発展(はってん)させた文型(ぶんけい)や表現(ひょうげん)を学習(がくしゅう)する。
