【Course Objectives】

Students will acquire knowledge on Europe economic history and be able to analyze its economic structure. Based on that, students will understand problems found in economic history researches and their discussion frameworks.

【Course Contents】

How society and economy develop? In this seminar, we consider and analyze this subject from the historical approaches. A special focus is put on the role of merchants/entrepreneuers. They procure products people demand, connect and integrate all parts of the world, create innovation in various economic sectors.
We argue the role of merchants/entrepreneur of Europe from the Middle Ages to the 19th century. Main topics will be "merchants/entrepreneur".
Students must complete assignments given in the class (create simple note or summary on these subjects or free research presentation). Professor will give assignment in every class.
