(1) Students will become proficient in reading and understanding Meiji and Taisho period literature.
(2) Students will learn the basics of research through the class, such as reviewing previous research, identifying problems in previous research, and identifying measures to overcome these problems.
(3) Students will gain an understanding of Eiji Makiyama's theory and thought.
1) Students will explore issues in the history of educational methods in the Meiji and Taisho periods, using the writings of Higuchi Kanjiro as a starting point.
2) Students will review previous studies on Eiji Makiyama to understand the reach of Makiyama's research.
(3) Students will review Eiji Makiyama's writings.

（1）明治・大正期の文献の読解に習熟する。
（2）授業を通して、先行研究のレビュー、先行研究の問題点の抽出、それを乗り越えるための方策の見極めといった、研究の基礎を体験的に学ぶ。
（3）槙山栄次の理論と思想を理解する。

1）樋口勘次郎の著作を手がかりに、明治・大正期の教育方法史の課題を探る。
2）槙山栄次に関する先行研究をレビューし、槙山研究の到達点を把握する。
3）槙山栄次の著作を講読する。
1) Students will explore issues in the history of educational methods in the Meiji and Taisho periods, using the writings of Higuchi Kanjiro as a starting point.
