【Course Objectives】

We aim to understand the basics of quantum field theory in curved spacetime and learn its physical content. Furthermore, we aspire to grasp 'quantum field theory in curved spacetime' from the respective standpoints of particle physics, cosmology, and general relativity. Additionally, the goal is to acquire more advanced knowledge and skills than those covered in the previous course.

【Course Contents】

The quantum field theory in curved spacetime plays a significant role in understanding particle physics, cosmology, and theories of gravity. In particular, it is crucial for describing quantum phenomena in situations where the effects of gravity are pronounced, such as in Black Holes or expanding universes, and for understanding the quantum theory of gravity through concepts like AdS/CFT correspondence.

In this course, we will first understand the basics of quantum field theory on curved spacetime, including concepts and computational methods. We will then study specific phenomena such as quantum fluctuations in an expanding universe and particle creation in strong gravitational fields, like Hawking radiation.

If there is enough time, we will also cover topics such as the Trace Anomaly and field theories in AdS spacetime. The aim is to gain a deeper understanding of the quantum field theory in curved spacetime from the perspectives of particle physics, cosmology, and relativity, thereby comprehensively grasping 'quantum field theory in curved spacetime' from each of these standpoints.
