【Course Objectives】

This course aims to give students a comprehensive understanding of the theoretical foundations and observational properties of stellar evolution, nucleosynthesis, and hot plasma in supernova remnants, galaxies, and galaxy clusters.

【Course Contents】

Studying hot plasma that fills galaxies and galaxy clusters is a crucial key to understanding the evolution of these systems. These objects grow under dark matter gravity, and shockwaves heat the accreted baryons. As baryons cool and become denser, stars form. Supernova explosions heat the interstellar gas and supply metals to the interstellar space. The heated gas can erupt as galactic winds, polluting the intergalactic space. This course will begin with the theoretical foundations of stellar evolution and nucleosynthesis and then introduce observational results from X-ray observations of supernova remnants, galaxies, and galaxy clusters
