The aim of this course is to understand the basic structure and behavior of atoms and molecules based on quantum mechanics.

原子や分子の基本的な構造と振る舞いを理解し，自然現象を原子分子レベルで直感的に理解できる知識と思考能力を身につける。なお、前期課程よりも高度な知識・スキルを身に付けることを目標にする。
The aim of this course is to understand the basic structure and behavior of atoms and molecules based on quantum mechanics.
電磁気学と量子力学の初歩知識の復習から入り，原子や分子の構造・電磁場との相互作用について古典論と量子論を比較しながら講義する。自然現象や宇宙観測との関連，および最先端の光技術，量子ビーム，計測技術についても概説する。
