【Course Objectives】

This course introduces a basic theory of p-extensions of number fields and related topics, reviewing the basics of algebraic integers and Galois theory.

【Course Contents】

One of the main subjects of algebraic number theory is to study the arithmetic structure of number fields such as ideal class groups. A combination of class field theory and the theory of p-groups is useful for the study of Galois extensions of prime power degree (p-extensions) even for non-abelian p-extensions of higher degree. The purpose of this course is to enrich a knowledge of p-extensions of number fields with explicit examples.
